Janie Hayes Mediation and Mindfulness

My work is offered in the spirit of dana, a foundational practice in many Buddhist traditions that invites generosity as a path to mutual support and liberation. Dana recognizes that giving and receiving are not transactional, but relational—part of a shared commitment to interdependence and trust. In this model, you are invited to give what feels right to you, based on your financial circumstances, your sense of value received, and your intention to support this work in the world.

This is also a step toward a gift economy—an alternative to the scarcity-driven norms of conventional pricing. A gift economy is rooted in the belief that when we offer what we can and receive what we need, we create a more connected, compassionate, and sustainable community. Your contribution—whatever the amount—helps make this work accessible to others, especially those navigating financial hardship or marginalization.

There is no minimum, no proof of need, and no expectation beyond your honest self-reflection. If you're able to pay more, you help subsidize access for others. If you need to pay less, you are just as welcome. This model is an experiment in trust—and an invitation to engage in a relationship of shared care, rather than simple exchange.
